Preprimary Extended Care
This program has been developed to provide an optimum environment for students who are with us beyond the three-hour Montessori class time. Extended Care enrollment typically is for the opposite half of the day from the selected Montessori Class.
If enrolled in the morning Extended Care program, the child will spend the first half of the day in the Extended Care Room, participating in a variety of activities. Free choice from the many activity centers, group projects, quiet reading time, as well as gross motor activities are available. This part of the day also includes a morning snack time. The children will have lunch before going to their afternoon Montessori Class.
If enrolled in the afternoon Extended Care program, the child will spend the first half of the day in the Montessori Class, then will go to the Extended Care Room for lunch, followed by a nap. When nap time is over, the children will be free to choose from the activity centers. In addition, group snack, projects, cooking experiences, gross motor activities and quiet reading time are available.
